Stanage Edge

It’s a real shame that with a National Park on my doorstep I haven’t managed to spend that much time exploring the surrounding countryside. However, this was made up for on Saturday when, after a short bus ride, four of us were dropped off at the county boundary of Derbyshire on the A57. We had no real route planned, but ended up taking a meandering hike along Stanage Edge, past Redmires Reservoirs and through the Wyming Brook Nature Reserve. Twelve miles later, we made it back to Sheffield in time to see a fairly remarkable sunset, and a well deserved pint.
