Snow at last
With yet another ‘Big Freeze’ being forecast for Britain this week, I was somewhat surprised to wake up this morning to find Aber under a good layer of snow. Usually we miss out due to being so close to the coastline, but around 4 inches had settled – enough for the university to shutdown anyway. With more snow forecast for Wales and temperatures dropping even further, our planned trip into Ogof Carno tomorrow had to be postponed. Apparently parts of the ‘Heads of the Valleys’ road were closed-off today, and with temperatures forecast to be at -7ºC after the trip, caving didn’t seem that tempting after all.
A brief break in the weather this afternoon made for some nice shots of Aberystwyth though…
